    Welcome back to Pride!***
We are excited for the return of the Pride Event for 2025! While we do anticipate a smaller event this year due to the nature of the patch cycle, and have scaled down plans accordingly, we are very much looking forward to an incredible parade and afterparty with dj raid train and in-game entertainment again this year! We invite all to join us and help spread the word!

    About:

What is Pride month?Pride month celebrates the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in June 1969, when police raided a popular gay bar called the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street in New York City. Their violence toward the patrons and employees resulted in six days of protests, lead by trans and gay men and women, especially of color, and served as a catalyst for LGBTQIA+ rights movements internationally.Since then, queer communities around the globe have celebrated "Christopher Street Day" or "Gay Liberation Day" on the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, and have increasingly held marches and parades celebrating and proclaiming support for LGBTQIA+ rights in Pride events throughout the month of June.In these events, the focus is on proclaiming, loudly and clearly, that the community exists, that its members are not alone, and that together we can strengthen our societies against social injustice, bigotry, and hate. In doing so, we raise awareness and support for global social and political action on issues faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, even as we celebrate the community itself.People come from all walks of life and bring different experiences from these perspectives. Pride month celebrations are a fun way to express yourself in a safe space surrounded by your community and allies, celebrate diverse identities, encourage exploration and understanding, and share support for equality and diversity globally! Why Final Fantasy XIV?The FFXIV community is known to be among the most positive and welcoming in gaming! We lift each other up, support great causes, and come together as a community in a way that's truly rare and impressive! The player-base is incredibly diverse and, with few exceptions, notably kind, patient, and tolerant. Of course, there are always those who buck the trend, but this community is noteworthy for these reasons, and we want to let that shine! Furthermore, the pandemic created a need for remote celebration of these types of causes, and MMOs provide a perfect online venue! This turned out to be incredible, both as a way to connect remotely and still feel present as a virtual parade, and also as a way for the FFXIV community itself to show its beautiful colors! We believe events like these should become a permanent staple in the game, for the game's own community, and as a way to stand together with the wider community beyond!FFXIV Pride 2022Back then, FFXIV did not yet have the ability to travel between logical datacenters. Cross-DC travel was introduced in July 2022, one month after the event. Since our group of organizers are based on Chaos Datacenter, we put together Chaos DC Pride 2022. Even though we were limited to only one logical datacenter, the FFXIV community still showed up in a big way! We celebrated pride across 2 days, and based on zone caps consecutively, it is estimated that as many as 1500-2000 players participated on Saturday, and as many as 750-1500 players joined for Sunday!Dozens and dozens of streamers attended, streamed, participated, and shared, including Preach, BiggMilky, Mousie, Yam Yam, CalZoneXIV, PawnRocket, The Songbirds, and more! While we're hopeful that the community will knock it out of the park to make as big an impact or bigger this year, we are also aware that there was a lot more attention on FFXIV in general last year. The newness of Endwalker, and the popularity of story playthroughs, end-game raiding, and entertainment was at an all-time high, in the midst of an effective doubling of the number of players in general. This caused a wave of interest that is hard to ignore.FFXIV Europe Pride Going ForwardSince then, we've been able to make the event across all Europe each year, and we've been absolutely amazed by the turnout!Remember, the whole purpose is to celebrate as LGBTQIA+ community members and allies, and to shine a spotlight, and the rest is all just a bonus! As we plan further, keep an eye out for more information on this site and on social media!

    Organizers:

    Primary Organizers:
    2021-2025:
    Lilly Wandsworth (@LillyWandsworth)
    2022-2024:
    Jane Mango (@JaneMangoFFXIV)
    Melora Gaar (@GaarMelora)
In 2021, during the pandemic, Lilly Wandsworth organized a Pride parade on Omega, and has continued to lead the way ever since. In 2022, Jane Mango and Melora Gaar, joined forces with Lilly Wandsworth to expand the Pride event as a 2 day occasion for Chaos Datacenter, and bring in as many people as possible. Lilly's FC, Gobbo, and Jane and Melora's FC, The Donuts, worked together to make Pride 2022 happen, including networking, promotion, planning, and outreach. While Jane and Melora have since had to step away for commitments in their lives, Lilly continues to lead the way in 2025 and beyond!

    Rules:

    1) Be kind and welcoming! There will be no tolerance for trolls, offensive slurs or hate speech. All participants are advised to block and report any incidents and rejoin the fun! This is a community event and all are welcome to show their pride and support together as allies!2) Respect other players! We will be marching through zones where players may be advancing MSQ, side quests, hunt log, etc., and may be totally unaware of the event. Please be kind and respectful to their gaming experience! Welcome them to join in as well, if they're able to! The parade may be a sight to see, but it might also impact players ability to travel to zones for any purpose, which is an unfortunate consequence of zone caps. Don't worry, that doesn't mean we should feel bad, but we should be cognizant and respectful to all players regardless!3) Be mindful of chat channels and spam! You will see shouts from organizers, and very likely from others as well! While all players are of course allowed to chat in any of the available game chats, note that spamming a chat channel so as to prevent other players from normal usage of the chat is against FFXIV ToS as a form of trolling/harassment, and will not be tolerated. Usage of the shout chat by organizers will be periodic and for valid purpose as part of this event. All participants are advised to be mindful of the FFXIV ToS and be reasonable in the chat channels!4) Please dismiss minions and companions! As with in-house player limits, minions and companion chocobos count towards the player cap. To ensure the max number of players can enjoy the parade together as we progress through zones, please dismiss your minions and chocobo companions so those spots can remain available for other players! Note also that players might be in the areas with their own minions or companions out which is not an issue at all, let them play the game normally and be respectful and kind!5) Have fun! We're all here to celebrate, and we want everyone to have a wonderful time! Please do chat with friends, welcome other players, emote and take pictures, and above all else, have fun with it!

    Pro Tips:

    - Arrive early! 2022 saw an estimated 1500-2000 people celebrate Pride together on day one, and as many as 750-1500 people on day two, we capped several zones at a time during the parade, and 2023 was very similar! It may be the case that the New Gridania zone may cap even before the parade begins!- Don't engage trolling, block and report and get back to the fun! Thankfully, we did not see any instances of offensive behavior last year, but the advice remains the same. If you see it happening, don't play into it, just ignore it and enjoy the celebration!- Mount walking speed is faster than unmounted walking speed! The vast majority of folks in the parade will be on-foot walking the full route. The full walk takes approximately 1 hour from start to finish, with a possible small break in the middle. If you mount up, that's perfectly acceptable, just know you will be moving faster than those on-foot.- Zone caps result in stretching into groups! Depending on how many people join this year, you may notice the parade stretch out over a great distance, and breaking into groups of many dozens at a time, with the start of the parade perhaps a few zones ahead of the back end of the parade. This is normal, as the zones will cap, allowing people to enter in bursts at a time. This stretching of the parade cannot be avoided, so keep an eye on the route if you lose sight of people ahead of you!- This is an open community event! The whole idea of the event is to give players the opportunity to show their pride and support for the LGBTQIA+ community! All are welcome and encouraged join and celebrate! We want all pride allies to stand together and show how amazing and welcoming the FFXIV community is, and help shine a spotlight of support during Pride month this year! Keep in mind that whatever background or experiences each person brings to the event this year, the focus is the umbrella of mutual support as allies!- Feel free to teleport or fly to catch a view or join friends! While we do want the overall parade to maintain the form of a parade, that doesn't mean you need to feel obligated to stay separated from friends if you end up behind or ahead. Zone capping may be an issue, but you can certainly try to teleport to a location or zone ahead, or mount and fly as needed! Sometimes flying above can offer incredible views of an incredible event in-game! Know that others may be doing this as well, and that's absolutely okay! Join back in the parade and keep marching onward!- Live-streaming is welcome! If you would like to stream the event, we encourage you to do so! Share clips, make a compilation video, or chat with folks while live! There may be several streamers who are live during the event, please do be mindful and respectful! We may also be arranging live entertainment on given stream channels, check this site for more info, and watch for shout chats with info during the event!
